Usyk to fight Rico Verhoeven: date and venue announced

WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will fight Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in Giza, Egypt.
This was announced by the head of the General Directorate of Entertainment of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Sheikh.
The WBC heavyweight title will be on the line. For Oleksandr Usyk, this will be another defense of the belt after his July fight, in which he knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round.
Rico Verhoeven has a 66-10 kickboxing record. He has also fought one fight each in professional boxing and mixed martial arts. The Dutchman held the Glory title for over 12 years and has been one of the top heavyweight kickboxers since 2014.
The fight will be broadcast by the DAZN platform.
