Vadym Sukharevskyi will lead the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – media
Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, who previously headed the Unmanned Systems Forces, will become the new commander of the Ukrainian Navy’s Marine Corps. In this position, he will replace Major General Dmytro Delyatskyi, who only took command of the Marines in early October.
This was reported by “1+1” journalist Yulia Kiriyenko. The information was also confirmed by two hromadske sources in the Defense Forces.
According to one of the publication’s interlocutors, Delyatsky had difficulties in his relations with the military leadership. This could be one of the reasons for his quick replacement.
In 2024, Sukharevskiy was involved in the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces and became their first commander. However, a year later, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, dismissed him from this position.
According to military sources, disagreements arose between Sukharevskiy and Syrskyy after this. Now the colonel is to return to command the troops.
It was previously reported that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy has begun a personnel review of officers of the General Staff . According to media reports, one of the main criteria will be relevant experience in performing combat missions.
