Valentine’s Day: how much do flowers cost in different cities of Ukraine

Ukrainian cities recorded an increase in flower prices on February 14 due to increased demand on Valentine’s Day. The largest price increases were observed in large cities, where prices for roses and holiday bouquets increased significantly.

Flower shops across Ukraine are seeing increased demand for roses and holiday arrangements. Florists explain that the cost depends on imported supplies and the complexity of bouquet design. Most often, buyers order red flowers and mixed bouquets.

In Kyiv, roses are sold at prices ranging from 70 to over 150 hryvnias per piece. Ready-made flower arrangements in the capital cost around 1,500 hryvnias.

In Ternopil, ready-made bouquets are sold at prices ranging from 400 to 4,000 hryvnias. Individual roses and tulips in various stores cost from 49 to 140 hryvnias.

In Zhytomyr, vendors offer single flowers, classic bouquets, and boxed arrangements. Bouquets of standard roses or tulips usually cost a few hundred hryvnias, while larger arrangements can cost several thousand hryvnias. Individual flowers cost 30-80 hryvnias for a rose, 79 hryvnias for a carnation, and 75 hryvnias for an iris.

In Kharkiv , flower prices have increased by 15% compared to last year. The average cost of roses is 80-160 hryvnias per piece, ready-made bouquets are sold from 600 hryvnias, and compositions in baskets cost from 400 hryvnias.

Odessa also recorded an increased demand for flowers on the eve of the holiday. Roses are sold on average for 80-130 hryvnias per piece. The cheapest bouquets cost from 200 hryvnias and consist, in particular, of 5 tulips.

In Lviv, prices for pre-order bouquets start at 500 hryvnias. Regular roses sell for about 70 hryvnias per piece, and bush roses cost about 200 hryvnias per piece.

It is worth adding that on Saturday, February 14, the world celebrates Valentine’s Day – a holiday of love and romance.
