US Vice President J.D. Vance is scheduled to travel to Pakistan on April 21 for talks with Iran about a possible ceasefire.

Axios writes about this with reference to sources.

The White House waited until the last minute for a signal from Tehran about its readiness to send a delegation.

According to sources, the Iranian side was hesitant due to pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps , which insisted on not starting negotiations without lifting the blockade.

Turkey , Egypt , and Pakistan also called on Iran to engage in dialogue. The final decision, according to sources, was made following a signal from Iran’s Supreme Leader.

President Donald Trump’s special representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner , are also expected to join the talks.

Let us recall that on March 3, the Israeli military announced the destruction of an Iranian nuclear facility located on the outskirts of Tehran .
