Vasyl Malyuk is no longer the head of the SBU – Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a meeting with Vasyl Malyuk, during which he thanked him for his combat work and suggested that he continue to focus on asymmetric operations against Russia.
According to the head of state, Ukraine must increase the number of asymmetric operations against the Russian occupier and the aggressor state, achieving tangible results in destroying the enemy. Zelenskyy emphasized that Vasyl Malyuk has the necessary experience and skills for such activities and will continue to work within the SBU system in this area.
The President also instructed Malysh to make Ukraine’s asymmetric operations the strongest in the world, assuring him of sufficient resources and political support for this. Furthermore, during the meeting, the parties discussed candidates for the new head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Incidentally, Oleksandr Kononenko has been appointed the new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine . He replaces Oleg Ivashchenko, who was previously appointed head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed Mykhailo Fedorov to head the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Kyrylo Budanov and invited him to head the Presidential Office . The purpose of the appointment was to increase the focus on security, developing the defense forces, and strengthening the diplomatic track in negotiations. It was subsequently announced that Budanov had accepted Zelenskyy’s offer to head the Presidential Administration. He stated that he continues to serve Ukraine and views the new position as another level of responsibility to the country.
