Verkhovna Rada Committee Supports Denis Shmyhal’s Resignation

The Committee on the Organization of State Authority, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning at its meeting considered and approved the resignation of Denys Shmyhal from the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.

This was reported by the people’s deputy from the parliamentary faction “Voice” Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

“The committee approved the resignation of Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal. Next, the vote in the Rada is today,” Zheleznyak wrote.

According to him, today there will be a vote on the resignation of the prime minister and the government, and tomorrow the Rada will vote on the appointment of a new chairman and members of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Let us note that on July 15, Denis Shmyhal wrote a statement about his dismissal from the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine .

By the way, President Volodymyr Zelensky officially confirmed that he offered the current Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal the position of Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

The day before, President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko head the Cabinet of Ministers.

Subsequently, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that an official change of government is expected on July 16, within the framework of which Yulia Svyrydenko will be nominated for the post of Prime Minister instead of Denys Shmygal . The changes will affect a number of ministries, including the defense, economic and social blocs.
