Today, July 15, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine. The decision will come into force on August 7 and will last for 90 days – until November 5.
This was reported by the People’s Deputy from “Voice” Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
320 parliamentarians voted for the corresponding decision, one deputy (Oleksiy Goncharenko) voted against.
The parliament voted to extend martial law and general mobilization for the 16th time since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Note: Martial law was introduced in Ukraine due to Russia’s full-scale armed aggression.
This is a special legal regime that provides for the granting of powers to state authorities, military command, military administrations and local government bodies necessary to prevent a threat.
And mobilization assumes that men from 18 to 60 years old are considered liable for military service, which means they are subject to conscription into the army.
It should be noted that Russian occupiers launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. On the same day, they introduced martial law and announced a general mobilization until March 26.
