US President Donald Trump has said he plans to shorten the deadline for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine.

He said this during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

“I am very disappointed in President Putin. I am reducing the 50-day deadline I gave him by a smaller number because I think I already know the answer,” the American leader assured.

According to Trump, it has been possible to reach agreements on a ceasefire in Ukraine more than once, but Putin has always violated them by shelling populated areas.

Earlier, the Donald Trump administration announced that it would impose secondary sanctions and tariffs against Russia if a ceasefire is not achieved in Ukraine within 50 days.

As noted, the United States may impose sanctions against the Russian Federation and buyers of its energy resources in less than 50 days.
