Veterans may lose UBD status and state benefits: reasons given
The status of a combatant may be revoked if false information is discovered during its registration or if the court proves the commission of a serious or especially serious crime during the performance of combat missions. Loss of status means termination of access to state support programs provided for UBD.
This was reported by the e-Veteran platform.
According to current legislation, the status of a UBD can be revoked if false information is found on the basis of which it was issued. The certificate can also be taken away if the court proves the fact of committing a serious or especially serious crime while performing combat missions.
At the same time, even with a valid status, a veteran may face the termination of certain benefits due to untimely updating of information. In case of a change in place of residence, family composition, or list of utilities, the Pension Fund must be notified within 30 days.
In 2026, combatants are entitled to a 75% discount on utility bills, gas, and electricity, regardless of family income.
In addition, employed UBDs are entitled to 14 days of additional paid leave. The state guarantees their children budget places in higher education institutions and social scholarships up to the age of 23.
The UBD status also gives the right to early retirement: men can apply for it at age 55, and women – at age 50. A prerequisite is an insurance period of at least 25 and 20 years, respectively.
The period of military service is counted towards the insurance period regardless of whether the employer paid a single social contribution for the mobilized employee.
Recall that combatants in 2026 have the right to early retirement . Men can apply for it from the age of 55 with at least 25 years of insurance experience, and women – from the age of 50 with 20 years of experience.
