Victoria Syumar: Russia is hitting Roshen with shaheeds, and the authorities are putting spokes in the wheels from the inside

Russia is purposefully attacking Ukrainian business, destroying warehouses and enterprises that employ thousands of people and pay taxes to the budget. At the same time, the Ukrainian state must create systemic protection for businesses operating during the war.

MP Viktoriya Syumar stated this in her post, commenting on the new attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian enterprises. She mentioned, in particular, Roshen, Fozzy, Rozetka, and Aurora.

According to Siumar, strikes on warehouses have much more serious consequences than the destruction of goods or damage to buildings.

“When Russia burns Ukrainian business, it is not hitting boxes in warehouses. It is hitting Ukraine’s ability to live, work, and fight,” the deputy wrote.

She emphasized that behind every enterprise are jobs, employee salaries, and taxes that the state uses, in particular, to finance defense.

According to Siumar, Russia is trying to weaken the Ukrainian economy by destroying businesses, jobs, and sources of budget revenue. She also suggested that the increased attacks on businesses could be part of a retaliation after Ukrainian attacks on Russian military infrastructure.

At the same time, the deputy criticized the Ukrainian authorities for their attitude towards some Ukrainian entrepreneurs.

“Russia is hitting Roshen with ‘shaheeds’, while inside the country they continue to put spokes in the wheels. A strange understanding of the word ‘unity’,” she said.

Siumar called for an end to the application of sanctions against Ukrainians who live and work in Ukraine, pay taxes, and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unless there are sufficient grounds for such restrictions.

Separately, she stated the need to stop pressure on the courts and mentioned the Supreme Court in the context of applying sanctions.

According to the deputy, she previously submitted proposals to the Prime Minister regarding military risk insurance for business and strengthening its protection, in particular with the help of innovative air defense means.

“Russia is doing everything to ensure that the Ukrainian economy cannot withstand this war. We should not help it in this,” Siumar concluded.
