The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is considering the possibility of reviewing the conclusions of military medical commissions (MMCs), on the basis of which some conscripts received disabilities or were recognized as unfit for military service. At the same time, a decision on a mass review of all such conclusions has not yet been made.
MP Yulia Yatsyk stated this in an interview with the Superposition channel, commenting on the initiatives of the new Minister of Defense.
According to the parliamentarian, the checks may concern people who may have illegally obtained disability groups to avoid mobilization. As an example, she cited men who have registered medical restrictions but at the same time visit gyms and restaurants.
Jacyk clarified that the relevant changes still have to go through the legislative procedure. In particular, after the bill is adopted in the second reading, they may introduce not only a mechanism for reviewing the conclusions of the VLK, but also new types of liability.
It is proposed to establish criminal liability for issuing knowingly false conclusions of military medical commissions regarding the health status of mobilized persons. It is also proposed to punish employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers for the illegal mobilization of such persons.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian servicemen released from captivity will undergo a military medical commission (MMC) within 30 days after repatriation. During this time, doctors must conduct an examination and make an appropriate decision.
