“Volumes will increase”: Ukraine produces over 200 long-range strike drones per day

Ukrainian company Fire Point has launched mass production of over 200 long-range strike drones per day. The company has localized over 97% of engine parts and is preparing to further increase volumes.

It is noted that journalists from the French aerospace publication Air & Cosmos published an interview with Irina Terek, the technical director of Fire Point. She reported that the company produces more than 200 long-range strike drones per day.

According to Terek, the company managed to localize 97.5% of the engine parts. Of the 82 components, 80 are manufactured directly at the Ukrainian enterprise. Fire Point has mastered the full production cycle, including casting, machining and final assembly.

“We are very dependent on the help of partners in financing, intelligence, and general political support. But in terms of competencies and equipment, we are trying to do as much as possible independently,” said Iryna Terek.

She noted that initially the company relied entirely on imported engines. Over time, it became clear that this was a critical constraint to scaling production, after which a decision was made to localize as much as possible.

Air & Cosmos Editor-in-Chief Xavier Teitelman pointed out that even components such as silencers are now produced in Ukraine.

“The world simply does not have the capacity to supply 150-200, and soon 400 silencers per day. Local production has reduced the cost from 400 euros to over 70 euros per unit,” said Xavier Teitelman.

Iryna Terek reported that current production volumes already exceed 200 long-range FP-1 and FP-2 drones per day. The cost of one FP-1 drone is about $58,000, which is cheaper than Russian Shahed attack drones.

Recall that Ukraine has begun mass production of “Octopus” interceptor drones designed to combat “shaheeds.” The technology has already been transferred to three manufacturers, and eleven more companies are preparing their production facilities.

By the way, the Wild Hornets team announced the creation of a new STING fighter jet interceptor , which has already proven its effectiveness on the front. In four months of serial production, the defenders of Ukraine shot down over a thousand STING fighters and gerberas, almost half of them in October.
