Volunteer civil defense squads have been formed in Kyiv, with over 1,000 residents of the capital already joining them. The volunteers will help ensure the operation of critical infrastructure and perform necessary tasks during emergencies.

This was reported by Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleyev.

According to him, the squad members will be brought to work during crisis situations when the city experiences a shortage of workers.

In particular, volunteers will help maintain generators, be on duty at checkpoints, and perform other work to ensure the life of the capital.

The Kyiv City State Administration noted that before performing their duties, all participants in volunteer brigades undergo appropriate training.

More than 1,000 people have joined the units so far. The city government expects to involve them in work during difficult periods, particularly in winter in case of blackouts.

We would like to remind you that from 6:00 on September 6 , a differentiated air threat alert was introduced in Kyiv. From now on, residents of the capital will receive notifications indicating the specific type and level of danger.

By the way, in Kyiv, they are creating reserves of food and drinking water in case of long power outages and other emergencies . First of all, they plan to provide assistance to low-income Kyiv residents and people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
