Volyn strengthens defense: anti-drone nets will be installed above roads
Border communities in the Volyn region plan to install anti-drone nets over certain sections of highways. Such structures should strengthen the region’s protection from possible threats involving drones.
This was announced by the head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, Roman Romanyuk.
According to him, Volyn continues to strengthen its defense infrastructure, work on which began even before the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Currently, the region has already installed engineering barriers, strengthened defensive positions, and created other elements of protection. The next stage will be the installation of anti-drone nets over roads in the border zone.
In particular, such structures are planned to be installed in certain areas in the Shatsk community. They are intended to complicate the use of drones for reconnaissance and possible attacks on important objects or transport routes.
“We must be as prepared as possible for any development of events. Volyn is today one of the best-prepared border regions of Ukraine, and this work must be continued,” Romanyuk said.
He also noted that the emergence of new defense structures sometimes causes concern among local residents, who may perceive such work as a sign of a worsening security situation.
“This is somewhat alarming to the local population, many assume that it is dangerous. God forbid that they will be needed. But we must be ready in any case,” the head of the Volyn OVA emphasized.
