Walking with a child and collecting data for the FSB: SBU exposed an agent in Kyiv

The SBU detained an FSB agent in Kyiv who was preparing a new attack on defense-industrial complex enterprises and thermal power plants.

This was reported by the press center of the SBU.

According to the special services, the woman was collecting information to prepare missile and drone strikes on the capital’s energy infrastructure. In particular, she conducted reconnaissance near the city’s thermal power plants.

In addition, the person in question monitored the work of state and private enterprises working for the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine, and transmitted their coordinates to the Russian side.

The investigation found that during the investigation, the woman disguised her actions as walks with her young daughter. She changed her clothes and behavior to avoid attracting attention.

Counterintelligence officers found out that the agent was checking the condition of energy facilities after previous Russian attacks and collecting up-to-date data on defense enterprises.

The attacker marked the coordinates of potential targets on Google Maps and took photos of the objects with her phone’s camera.

SBU officers documented her activities and detained her at her residence in the Obolonsky district of Kyiv.

According to the investigation, the woman worked as a saleswoman in one of the retail chains and agreed to cooperate with the FSB after looking for quick money in Telegram channels.

During the search, law enforcement officers seized the smartphone through which she had contacted the FSB curator, as well as replacement SIM cards.

Investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason under martial law.

The court chose for her a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post bail. The woman faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The comprehensive measures were carried out by employees of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

It was previously reported that the Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB agent who was trying to get a job at the district CCC in the Kharkiv region to spy on the Ukrainian military.

As a reminder, the SBU counterintelligence and the National Police prevented a terrorist attack in the center of Kharkiv and detained a 16-year-old Russian military intelligence agent.
