Wanted for three years: SBU detained an accountant from the occupied Luhansk region in Volyn

A former chief accountant of a company from the occupied Luhansk region, who had been wanted for three years for collaborating with Russia, was detained in Volyn. The woman came to western Ukraine on personal business, where she was detained.

According to the investigation, back in 2015, the accountant helped “re-register” the captured enterprise in the so-called “LPR.” The plant produced equipment for the coal industry and, after the occupation, began supplying products to Russian mines.

The company also paid “taxes” to Russia. The SBU established that from September 2016 to January 2020, the accountant transferred more than 1.5 million hryvnias in equivalent to the Russian budget.

According to the investigation, she did not act alone. The group also included the owner of the factory, who was a “deputy of the People’s Council of the LPR,” and two managers of the captured enterprise.

Back in 2023, the SBU informed them in absentia about the suspicion and put them on the wanted list. The case materials were transferred to the court.

The detainee is currently in custody. She faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
