Wanted to aim a missile at his own unit: the Armed Forces of Ukraine exposed a Russian “mole”

In the Kharkiv region, the SBU detained a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine suspected of working for the FSB. According to the investigation, he gave Russia the coordinates of his own repair battalion to prepare a missile strike.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The SBU military counterintelligence, with the assistance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, detained the suspect in a service car as he was leaving the military unit.
According to the special services, the man was a mobilized serviceman and worked as an electrician repairing unmanned systems in a motorized infantry brigade.
The investigation claims that he gave the FSB supervisor the exact coordinates of the Ukrainian repair battalion. Before the planned attack, the soldier allegedly intended to leave the unit’s territory under the pretext of going to the hospital in order to avoid being attacked.
The SBU stated that it had exposed the agent early and taken measures to secure the locations of Ukrainian military deployments.
According to the case materials, Russian special services recruited the man even before his mobilization. According to the SBU, they used his relative, who lives in Russia, to do this.
After mobilization, the suspect, in addition to performing his official duties, allegedly collected data on the locations of his unit and other units of the Defense Forces.
During the search, law enforcement officers seized five smartphones from him, which, according to investigators, he used for secret communication with the Russian side.
The man was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed under martial law .
He is being held without bail. If convicted, he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
