War instead of training: GUR fighters captured an African mercenary who joined the Russian army

In the Zaporizhia direction, servicemen of the GUR unit “Legion “Freedom of Russia” captured a foreign mercenary who joined the ranks of the Russian army.

This was announced by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

As it turned out, the prisoner was an African from Nigeria who was studying at the Moscow Higher School of Economics. The Russians dragged him into the war under the pretext of making quick money.

The African served in the 503rd Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces. He was promised “safe service” and support in securing positions, but instead was thrown into a “meat assault.”

Before being captured, the Nigerian fought on the side of the Russian Federation for 5 months.

“This is yet another evidence of the Russian command’s inhumane attitude towards national minorities and migrants, who are being used as cannon fodder,” the GUR of the Ministry of Defense emphasized.

By the way, the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured Togolese citizens who participated in the war on the side of the Russian army.

Earlier, near Toretsk in the Donetsk region , the Ukrainian Defense Forces captured another Chinese mercenary .

It is known that from April 2023 to May 2024 , Russia recruited more than 1,500 foreign citizens to wage war against Ukraine.
