Iryna Gerashchenko, a member of parliament from the European Solidarity party, reported that after the night rocket attack on Kyiv, problems with water supply and electricity arose in the center of the capital, in particular in the government quarter. Tanks with technical water and bio-toilets were brought to the Verkhovna Rada building.

She wrote about this in Telegram .

Gerashchenko said that due to the consequences of another massive attack by Russian troops on the energy and utility infrastructure of Kyiv, the parliament building and surrounding government institutions are experiencing serious water and electricity outages.

“A machine with technical water for the needs of the parliament. The European Solidarity faction asked Prime Minister Svyrydenko about the restoration of the water supply damaged by Russian terrorist attacks. The Prime Minister promised that water supply would be restored in Kyiv by the evening,” the deputy wrote.

She added that bio-toilets were also delivered to the government quarter to provide basic household needs for parliament and government employees.

Gerashchenko thanked all repair, rescue, and energy services who are continuously working to restore damaged infrastructure.

“Thank you to everyone who is working 24/7 right now. Thank you to our air defense forces, without whom it would be very difficult,” she said.

The People’s Deputy also reported that the European Solidarity faction addressed Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko with questions not only about the restoration of water supply, but also about the electricity supply in Kyiv, which was also partially destroyed due to Russian strikes. According to the Prime Minister, water and electricity are planned to be restored within 24 hours.

Gerashchenko sharply criticized the government for, as she put it, “lies, irresponsibility, and endless PR,” emphasizing that responsibility for the destruction of infrastructure lies solely with Russian troops, but the Ukrainian authorities should respond more promptly to the consequences of the attacks.

In addition, the MP noted that during the session in parliament, the government’s decision to introduce online divorces was discussed. She questioned the appropriateness of such a step in the conditions of war and demographic crisis, while Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov explained that it was only about digitalization of the service, which does not affect the number of divorces.

According to Ukrenergo, restoration work after the large-scale missile and drone attack is ongoing in all affected regions. Emergency power outages are currently in effect in Kyiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and partially Cherkasy regions.

At the same time, hourly outage schedules are being applied in the Chernihiv region due to the consequences of previous shelling.

According to Yuriy Ignat, head of the public relations service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the night attack, Russia used a large number of ballistic missiles. The interceptions were carried out by Patriot systems, but Ignat emphasized that Ukraine needs much more such systems to fully cover critical infrastructure.

Earlier it was reported that after a massive night strike, a significant part of Kyiv was left without electricity. Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko assures that restoration work has already begun, and the power will be restored soon. Later it became known that in Kyiv, power was restored for 270 thousand subscribers . Emergency shutdowns have been canceled in a number of cities.

As a reminder, as a result of the night strike on Kyiv, serious damage was recorded to critical infrastructure and residential buildings . Part of the capital was left without electricity and water, and the number of civilian casualties reached 12 people.

As reported, serious power outages were recorded in the capital on the morning of October 10. Due to strikes on critical infrastructure, the left bank of Kyiv was left without power, and the operation of the metro was partially limited.
