Water tariffs: the government made a new statement
The Cabinet of Ministers has appealed to the National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy and Utilities Sectors with a request to postpone the change in water tariffs.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.
She emphasized that water tariffs for the population should not be changed.
“Our position is clear: in times of war, people should not feel additional financial pressure,” the Prime Minister explained.
At the same time, Svyrydenko explained that it is necessary to find a joint solution that “balances the interests of consumers and the needs of service providers,” since the latter, according to her, should not go into debt.
“The next step is for the Government, together with the National Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine, to develop a joint solution,” the official concluded.
As a reminder, gas payments for Ukrainians will change from January 1, 2026. The fixed price for gas itself will remain unchanged, but the fee for its delivery will increase and will be charged according to a new principle.
