President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that prisoner exchanges between Ukraine and the Russian Federation will continue after Easter.
He said this during an evening video address.
“Prisoners of war, civilians — we remember everyone. We hope that we will continue the exchanges in the near future,” the head of state emphasized.
According to him, the Ukrainian side is doing “all the work” to continue the exchanges.
Zelenskyy spoke separately about the latest exchange. The President noted that it took a long time to prepare.
“We remember everyone, we search by every last name. It happens that we find a person after years when nothing was known about the person, and most importantly – so that we can return them home, to Ukraine,” he explained.
Zelensky also thanked everyone who works for the exchanges, especially the military, thanks to whom the exchange fund exists.
As a reminder, on April 11, on the eve of Easter,Ukraine and Russia held another prisoner exchange , in which 175 Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity.
