“We must hold elections”: Zelenskyy named the conditions for voting

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that elections in Ukraine can only be held if peace is achieved.

He said this at the White House during a press conference.

“We must hold elections, but all this must be safe, under safe conditions. We must work in the Verkhovna Rada. After all, during martial law, we cannot hold elections,” Zelenskyy answered a journalist’s question.

According to the president, security guarantees for the population are necessary for the vote to take place.

“We need security, we need guarantees. Yes, there must be complete peace in the sky, on the ground, and at sea so that people can exercise their will,” he assured.

Zelensky emphasized that everything must happen legally.

Recall, on the evening of August 18 , a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and American leader Donald Trump began at the White House .

By the way, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that before meeting with Trump , he coordinated positions with European leaders and the NATO Secretary General .
