European politicians condemned another massive Russian shelling of Kyiv and called on the international community to increase pressure on the Kremlin. Ministers from Estonia, Latvia and Poland stressed the need to continue supporting Ukraine and strengthen sanctions against Russia.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that Russia resorts to terror when it cannot achieve its goals by other means. According to him, the Kremlin’s international isolation will only increase.

“That is why our isolation of Russia cannot stop for a moment. The pressure must increase. The sanctions must become tougher. Only firm and continuous strategic isolation can truly deprive the Kremlin of the opportunity to continue this campaign of terror,” Tsakhkna said.

Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže also reacted to the Russian strike on Kyiv. She called the attack a senseless and barbaric attack on the civilian population of the Ukrainian capital and stressed that Russia must be forced to make peace through the introduction of new sanctions and continued support for Ukraine.

Polish Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Russia’s largest combined attack on Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and Moscow’s preparations for a large-scale mobilization indicate the need to maintain support for Kyiv.

“This shows how disconnected from reality are the voices calling for weakening support for Ukraine or slowing down the modernization of the Polish army,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said.

He added that Poland will continue to strengthen its own defense capabilities.

“Therefore, we are doing everything to ensure that Russian missiles never reach Poland, and that nothing threatens our security. We will not back down from this,” the minister emphasized.

As a reminder, on the night of July 19, Russian troops launched a massive missile strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region, using, in particular, ballistic missiles.

It was previously reported that Russian troops struck a suburb of Kharkiv on the afternoon of July 19. Later it became known that the strike hit the Kharkiv innovative sorting terminal of Nova Poshta in the suburbs of Kharkiv. The attack killed 4 people and injured 20 more.
