Germany will allocate 400 million euros for the production of Ukrainian drones, with the help of which Kyiv can strike targets in the Russian rear.
This was announced by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Ukrinform reports .
“Germany is providing 400 million euros for the purchase of long-range drones. This helps Ukraine strike Russian logistics facilities far behind the front line. We are seeing some success,” he noted.
The official stressed that it is becoming increasingly difficult for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to present the war as a success.
Pistorius added that this year Germany has allocated 9 billion euros to help Ukraine, assuring that the country plans to continue its support.
Berlin is currently preparing a €2 billion aid package that will include missile defense systems, state-of-the-art radar technology, and ammunition.
“We are also, of course, participating in PURL, with an investment of $500 million,” the minister informed.
As he noted, the priority remains supporting Ukrainian air defense, however, there will also be investments in countermeasures against UAVs.
Recall that by the end of 2025, Ukraine will receive two more modern Patriot air defense systems . Their supply will be carried out by Germany with the support of Norwegian partners.
