Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga said that Russia’s full-scale aggression has forever changed the role of Ukraine and the Russian Federation in the world. According to him, Ukraine is strengthening its position as a security partner, while Russia is gradually losing influence in various regions of the world.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sybiga noted that 2026 has cemented Ukraine’s new role in the world’s perception. According to him, the state has become not a supplicant or a victim, but a security partner that has unique experience and offers solutions for both its own security and global challenges.
“We are not supplicants, not victims, not a source of problems. The modern Ukrainian state is becoming a security partner that has unique experience and offers solutions not only to its own, but also to global problems,” the minister said.
According to Sybiga, the formation of this role was facilitated by the successes of the Ukrainian military, the stabilization of the front, the historic tour of the President of Ukraine to the Gulf states, the development of international agreements in the field of unmanned technologies, and the consolidation of Ukraine’s role as a contributor to Euro-Atlantic security in the final document of the NATO summit in Ankara.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that the main task of Ukrainian diplomacy is to consolidate Ukraine’s new role and transform it into practical benefits for citizens.
“We are not doing charity. We are building mature, mutually beneficial partnerships that strengthen our shared security,” Sibiga said.
At the same time, the minister said that Russian aggression has forever changed Russia’s role in the world and is weakening its international influence. According to him, Moscow is losing ground in the countries of the South Caucasus, Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Indo-Pacific region and Latin America, and is also failing in its attempts to interfere in elections in European countries.
Sybiga also noted that these processes should become a signal for Ukraine and its allies to more actively strengthen their own positions.
“It’s time to create new meanings and fill familiar words with new meaning, new awareness gained by Ukraine in the flames of the greatest war in Europe since World War II,” the minister said.
He added that the era of conventional disarmament is over, and a new system of international security is impossible without Ukraine’s participation.
Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin may consider the possibility of a new war against Europe amid the difficulties in the war against Ukraine. At the same time, discussions are growing in the United States about the role of NATO and President Donald Trump’s position in the event of a potential conflict.
It was previously reported that the Russian Federation is moving from open threats to specific subversive actions on the territory of European states . At the same time, the countries of the European Union have encountered serious problems in trying to prepare their territory for a possible defense.
