A “Coalition of the Willing” meeting will be held in Paris on July 13, during which the allies will discuss strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses. The European Union also plans to adopt its 21st package of sanctions against Russia next week.

This is reported by Reuters .

According to the agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in a meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing” along with 25 world leaders. The event is part of efforts to develop a common position on support for Ukraine and future security guarantees.

It is expected that one of the main issues will be strengthening Ukrainian air defenses amid increasing Russian attacks and a shortage of ballistic missile defenses.

“The ballistic missiles launched by Vladimir Putin deliberately target civilian areas, and June has become one of the bloodiest months since the start of the war,” said French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot.

A representative of the French presidential administration reported that the meeting participants will discuss the purchase of additional American Patriot interceptors, accelerating the deployment of the Franco-Italian SAMP-T system, as well as the possibility of developing alternative air defense systems with the participation of the European and Ukrainian defense industries.

One of the options being considered by the allies is the joint creation by European countries of a new air defense system that would complement SAMP-T and Patriot, with Ukraine involved in its production.

In addition, according to Reuters, the European Union plans to adopt the 21st package of sanctions against Russia next week.

French President Emmanuel Macron also announced a series of statements, some of which will concern bilateral cooperation and joint arms production. According to him, the “Coalition of the Willing” may announce joint military exercises to test the readiness of the future multinational force in Ukraine.

“It should be remembered that the MNFU consists of land, air, sea components and a training component. All these components must be constantly checked to varying degrees with the participation of all participants to guarantee their reliability. This is not about conducting exercises on the territory of Ukraine,” Macron said.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, after another massive Russian attack on Kyiv, called on international partners to immediately make decisions to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense , impose sanctions on Russia, and increase support for the Ukrainian state.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky sent a letter to US President Donald Trump, in which he warned of the aggravation of problems with Ukraine’s air and missile defense against the backdrop of massive Russian attacks.
