Western Ukraine suffers from drought: water outages possible

In western Ukraine, drought and water shortages may lead to water shut-off schedules. In a number of regions, river levels have dropped to historic lows.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

Critically low water levels are recorded in the rivers of Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Volyn regions.

Due to the rapid shallowing of rivers in the Dniester, Syan, and Western Bug basins, forecasters have declared the highest, third, level of danger.

Amid a prolonged drought and water shortage in the western regions of Ukraine, water supply shutdown schedules may be introduced.
