As of January 1, a significant number of consumers in the Odessa and Volyn regions of Ukraine were left without electricity due to Russian shelling, and there are also new power outages in the Chernihiv region.
This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo .
It is noted that at night the enemy carried out a massive drone attack on energy facilities in several regions of Ukraine.
“As a result, a significant number of consumers in the Volyn and Odessa regions were without power this morning. There are also new power outages in the Chernihiv region. Emergency restoration work has already begun, and the gradual restoration of subscribers is underway. Power engineers are doing everything possible to return the equipment damaged by the enemy to operation as soon as possible,” the report says.
In addition, it is reported that electricity consumption as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday is 16.4% lower than the previous day. This is due to the power outage of a significant number of consumers in the Volyn and Odessa regions due to the consequences of Russian shelling, as well as the forced increase in power outages compared to the previous day.
Due to the consequences of previous massive Russian attacks, power curtailment schedules for businesses and hourly outage schedules for the population are in effect in all regions of Ukraine.
Recall that Russian troops massively attacked Ukraine with drones on the night of December 31 to January 1. Lutsk, Odessa, and Sumy were hit in particular. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy drones.
