What to expect from April in Ukraine: weather forecasters predict heat and precipitation

The weather in Ukraine in April 2026 will be typical for this month. Temperature and precipitation will remain within the climatic norm.

This was reported by forecasters of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center.

The main feature of April is the rapid increase in heat. The average monthly temperature across the country is expected to be +8…+11 °C, in the mountainous regions of the Carpathians — +5…+7 °C. Absolute minimums can reach -16.2 °C, in some places in the northern regions even -22 °C, and maximums — +33 °C, in the mountains up to +29 °C.

The average amount of precipitation is forecast to be 30–50 mm across the country, 60–90 mm in the Carpathians. Thunderstorms are likely throughout the territory.

“In the last days of March and the first days of April, there will be a decrease in temperature. We should expect more cloudiness and possible precipitation. A local cyclone may form. Despite this, the night temperature will not drop: although the clouds will prevent warming during the day, they will retain heat at night,” noted forecaster Natalia Ptukha.

Thus, April will bring classic spring weather with moderate warmth and regular rains, gradually preparing Ukraine for the warmer season.
