When are the autumn holidays in Kyiv: the Kyiv City State Administration announced the dates

Kyiv schools are recommended to take a week-long vacation in the fall – from October 26 to November 1. At the same time, educational institutions will be able to change the dates of the vacation depending on the security situation.

This was reported by the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City State Administration.

According to the recommended structure of the 2026/2027 academic year, most schools in the capital will operate on a semester system. The first semester will last from September 1 to December 23, and the second from January 11 to May 28, 2027.

Winter vacations for schoolchildren are recommended to be held from December 24, 2026 to January 10, 2027. Spring break is planned from March 22 to 28. Additional vacations from February 15 to 21 have also been planned for first-grade students.

The last bell in Kyiv schools is planned to ring on May 28. On this day, regular classes in classrooms will end.

At the same time, the school year itself will last until June 30, 2027. After the end of classes, schools will be able to organize consultations, additional classes to overcome educational losses, study tours, project work, and other activities.

The Kyiv City State Administration emphasizes that the proposed vacation dates are advisory in nature. Schools can independently adjust the structure of the academic year and the format of education taking into account the security situation.
