When Europe adopts new sanctions against Russia: Ursula von der Leyen gave the answer

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU plans to adopt a new package of sanctions against Russia in September 2025.
She said this during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to her, Europe will continue to increase economic pressure on Russia and expand sanctions.
“We have already adopted 18 packages and we are advancing the preparation of the 19th package, which will be adopted in September. We know that sanctions are effective,” Ursula von der Leyen emphasized.
She added that Ukraine must have strong security guarantees in order to be able to protect its interests and the interests of Europe, assuring that the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign aid cannot be restricted.
“Ukraine must be able to maintain its sovereignty and integrity. There can be no restrictions on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or assistance from other countries, as well as cooperation with them. The “Coalition of the Willing” and Europe are ready to make their contribution,” the EC President noted.
Recall that the European Union is preparing to impose sanctions against China due to its role in supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that it is necessary to increase pressure on the Russian Federation to force it to stop the war .
