When to expect peacekeepers in Ukraine: the response of the Prime Minister of Great Britain

Plans to send deterrent forces to Ukraine are almost ready for implementation.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

According to him, these measures are in the final stages of preparation and are awaiting the onset of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

“I am pleased that, like other members of the coalition, we have made the most progress in preparing plans for the moment when the ceasefire becomes a reality. Last week, at a meeting of the “Coalition of the Determined”, we formally approved these plans. They are fully ready to launch,” Starmer noted.

He added that it takes time to develop detailed military plans, so right now, in anticipation of a ceasefire, they have prepared a structure that will allow them to quickly move from planning to action.

“The most difficult thing is to create an effective command structure that ensures a rapid transition from plans to implementation,” the British Prime Minister explained.

Thus, the “Coalition of the Determined” stands on the verge of launching a new phase of support for Ukraine, waiting for the appropriate political signal to begin the operation.

As a reminder, the newly elected President of Romania, Nikusor Dan, spoke out against the participation of the Romanian army in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

As reported, Canada is considering the possibility of participating in a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine after the end of the war.

In addition, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur stated that they did not rule out the possibility of sending a military contingent to Ukraine as part of a future peace agreement.
