When will the heating season begin in Kyiv – Klitschko gave the answer

The heating season officially starts in Kyiv tomorrow, October 29.
Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko explained that the launch of the heating system technologically requires up to a week for full deployment.
“The start of the heating period in residential buildings was determined taking into account weather conditions, efficient use of fuel, ensuring a comfortable temperature in homes, and reducing the load on the power grid,” Klitschko noted.
The mayor also added that due to the expected drop in temperature, the city decided to start supplying heat to Kyiv residents’ apartments. For hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and other social institutions, the heating season already started on October 3, according to preliminary applications from the heads of these institutions.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the official start of the heating season is scheduled for October 28 .
It was also previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is preparing to launch a new social program “Warm Winter” , which will provide for a one-time payment of 6,500 hryvnias to certain categories of citizens for support during the winter period of 2025/26.
