When will the Ukrainian FP-9 ballistic missile, capable of reaching Moscow, be ready: Zelenskyy named the terms

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine’s FP-9 ballistic missile will be ready this fall. He said the missile will have a range sufficient to reach Moscow.

This week, Ukraine announced the first combat use of its domestically produced FP-7 ballistic missile, which has a flight range of about 250 km.

Zelensky said he had appealed to manufacturer Fire Point to expedite the completion of the FP-9. According to the company, the longer-range missile is capable of hitting Moscow.

“I told them: ‘Where is my FP-9?’ We need FP-9. And I am sure that FP-9 will be ready this fall,” Zelenskyy said.

The president also said that Ukraine has been heavily using F-16 and MiG-23 fighter jets to destroy Russian drones. He said that these aircraft have managed to shoot down about 60% of such drones, but the reserves of 20-millimeter ammunition for the fighters have almost run out.

Kyiv is also working to strengthen its electronic warfare capabilities. In the second half of October, Ukraine expects to receive the first batch of small air defense missiles capable of destroying the new Shaheds.

Zelenskyy previously reported on the development of 5 models of interceptors to combat Shahed jets. Tests of 2 of them showed about 30% success.

“We will have to scale up. I hope that thanks to all these measures, thanks to all these elements, we will find a way out,” the president added.

Earlier it was reported that on October 1, Ukraine first used the FP-7 tactical ballistic missile in combat conditions. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on the results of the first combat use and stated that the next stage will be the production of the missile. During the attack , it hit a target in the temporarily occupied territory.
