Internal divisions among Republicans are intensifying amid the protracted military action and the lack of a clear plan from the leader of the political force, Donald Trump. The situation is hitting the American economy, provoking a rift between the United States and Europe, and could lead to impeachment.

This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by Bohdan Nagaylo, editor-in-chief of the Kyiv Post.

“We can talk about a growing split. You know, this war is dragging on every day, especially the disappointment with Trump: in particular, that there is no strategy, that he has driven the country into a corner, that there is no clear way out yet,” the studio guest noted.

According to him, US Vice President J.D. Vance openly demonstrates disagreement with Trump’s actions, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio tries to hold a united front, which indicates serious friction within the party that is only increasing. Nagailo considers it a mistake to be insufficiently prepared for the consequences of the war, which continues despite claims of success.

An additional factor of tension is the ignoring of the needs of the Iranian people, who are protesting against the regime. While politicians discuss the nuclear threat, the democratic world sympathizes with the victims of internal repression in Iran, which is now almost not mentioned in high offices, – added Nahailo.

He also reported that J.D. Vance’s ambitions are causing concern among Trump’s inner circle, as the politician is trying to delicately distance himself from some of the leader’s decisions.

“As a political strategist, he understands that Trump’s authority is falling every day. And sooner or later, impeachment is likely. Not only because of the elections in November, but because of impeachment, because the beginning of this war is disregard for the Constitution, the loss of American resources, and the aggravation of relations with other countries,” explains the editor-in-chief of the Kyiv Post.

The situation is complicated by Trump’s ongoing flirtation with Russia, which is raising more and more questions in Congress. Nagailo believes that ignoring the legislature and starting new conflicts could lead to serious legal consequences for the incumbent Republican leader.

Recall that against the backdrop of the third week of the US military operation against Iran, allies are pressuring President Donald Trump to explain the goals and timing of the conflict. At the same time, the White House, according to sources, is not providing the allies with detailed information about further plans for the war.

Trump’s latest statements have raised concerns among U.S. allies. According to journalists, none of the countries are ready to support his call to participate in opening the blocked Strait of Hormuz. Signs of tension are also observed within the political team of the U.S. President.

Meanwhile, the peace process to end the war between Ukraine and Russia is in danger of collapse . The reason, according to diplomats, was US President Donald Trump’s declining interest in negotiations and the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, which is distracting Washington’s attention.
