The Ministry of Defense has expanded the list of categories of citizens for whom deferrals from mobilization are automatically extended. Seven more categories have been added to the auto-extension mechanism, and about 90% of deferrals are now extended without applications, certificates, or visits to institutions.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

The department noted that another automatic extension of deferrals took place until February 2 inclusive. It covered both deferrals issued through the “Reserve+” application and those submitted through the ASC. During this stage, the list of categories for automatic extension was expanded by seven more positions.

Previously, to extend the deferral, citizens had to collect paper documents, personally contact the CCC and the SP, and wait for a decision for over a week. This process had to be repeated every 90 days, which created a significant burden for both citizens and territorial centers.

Currently, in most cases, the grounds for postponement are checked automatically through state registers. The postponement continues without human intervention, and confirmation appears in the “Reserve+” application. If automatic verification is not possible, the application is submitted through the ASC. Acceptance of applications on these issues in the CCC and SP has been discontinued.

New categories with automatic extension of deferral

Automatic renewal applies to:

  • people caring for a seriously ill family member

  • guardians of people recognized as incapacitated

  • citizens who have a wife or husband with a disability of group III

  • persons caring for a second or third degree relative with a disability

  • parents who are raising a child under the age of 18 on their own

  • teachers of general secondary education institutions

Categories for which auto-renewal was previously in effect

The automatic renewal mechanism is also maintained for:

  • persons with disabilities

  • citizens temporarily unfit for military service

  • parents of a child with a disability under 18 years of age

  • parents of an adult child with a disability of group I or II

  • persons who have a wife or husband with a disability of group I or II

  • citizens who have parents or relatives of a spouse with a disability of group I or II

  • female and male military personnel who have a child

  • citizens deprived of their liberty as a result of armed aggression

  • military personnel released from captivity

“Reserve+” users, for whom auto-renewal is provided, receive a push notification about the scheduled update and a message after successful data processing. If the notification has not been received, it means that the information in the registers is insufficient or outdated – in this case, you must contact the ASC with supporting documents.

It was previously reported that the Verkhovna Rada is preparing amendments to the legislation on mobilization, which provide for the abolition of deferral for men over the age of 25 who enter institutions of higher, pre-university, or vocational education.

As a reminder, updated rules for booking employees of critical enterprises came into effect in Ukraine on December 4.
