Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, said that a new wave of mobilization in Russia will not allow the Kremlin to turn the tide of the war in its favor. According to him, the mobilization will only partially compensate for the losses of the occupation army, while the Russian economy may suffer serious consequences.
He wrote about this in Telegram .
Kovalenko stated that if a new wave of mobilization is announced in the fall, Russia will not be able to turn the tide of hostilities in its favor.
According to him, he warned about the possibility of such a scenario back in the spring. If the Kremlin makes a corresponding decision, mobilization will only be a way to partially compensate for the significant losses of personnel, since the current pace of recruitment of contract soldiers no longer covers the daily losses of the Russian army.
Kovalenko noted that increasing the number of troops will not eliminate the aggressor state’s systemic problems. According to him, Russia will continue to lose strategic facilities and resources as a result of strikes by Ukrainian forces, and the appearance of new mobilized troops will not solve the problem of fuel shortages.
The head of the Central Bank of Ukraine also warned third countries against supporting Moscow, noting that because of this, individual states could lose their own economies in a matter of days.
Kovalenko called the removal of Vladimir Putin and the speedy end of the war the only real way to avoid catastrophic consequences for Russia in the winter.
It was previously reported that a new wave of forced mobilization in Russia is unlikely to help the Kremlin improve the situation at the front and may further worsen the condition of the Russian army.
The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia was preparing additional mobilization to increase the occupation group in Ukraine.
As a reminder, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky stated that the next six months could be a turning point in the war against Russia.
