“Why is the US punishing Ukraine?”: Trump’s favorite publication urged him to restore military aid

The editorial board of the American publication The New York Post published an appeal to US President Donald Trump, urging him to resume the supply of military aid to Ukraine.

Reporters noted that Trump was frustrated after a recent call with Russian dictator Putin, who insisted he did not want a ceasefire. In addition, after the phone call, the Russian military carried out another airstrike, killing people.
“So why, Mr. President, is your administration punishing Ukraine?” Trump was asked.
The article noted that the Pentagon had stopped supplying weapons needed to defend Ukraine.
“Do you remember the despair on the face of the Ukrainian reporter you had a moving conversation with in the Netherlands, her fear for her husband and family. Why are we threatening to abandon her?” the article says.
At the same time, it is emphasized that aid to Ukraine does not harm the United States, but on the contrary – contributes to the development of American industry. In addition, Kyiv pays for the provided weapons: partly from frozen Russian assets and European grants.
The editorial board reminded Trump of the attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities and assured him that it was a “bold step,” while also urging him to do the same with Putin, because he “only understands force.”
“The fall of Ukraine is not a catastrophe that can be blamed on someone else or explained away as insignificant. It will destabilize the world, weaken America, and negatively impact your presidency. Don’t back down,” the journalists concluded.
As a reminder, the US authorities suspended the delivery of another package of weapons to Ukraine , citing possible risks of depletion of its own arsenals. At the same time, an analysis conducted by the Pentagon’s Joint Staff showed that providing assistance to Ukraine does not jeopardize the defense capability of the US Armed Forces.
As is known, the US House of Representatives has called on the administration of US President Donald Trump to resume arms supplies to Ukraine.
By the way, after a conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky, Donald Trump said that the United States wants to help Ukraine with air defense amid the escalating situation with Russian attacks.
