The pilot project with Internet access on Ukrzaliznytsia trains is being expanded to long-distance services. In test mode, Wi-Fi has been launched on the “Hutsulshchyna” train No. 95/96 on the Kyiv – Rakhiv route.

This was reported by the press center of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Passengers in all carriages of both train sets will have access to the network. Each passenger will be given 10 minutes of free internet to test the service and send urgent messages.

Full access to high-speed Internet for the entire trip costs 120 hryvnias without traffic restrictions per day. The first 5 gigabytes are provided without speed restrictions. You can pay for the service online with a payment card, as well as via Apple Pay or Google Pay.

The Internet on the train works thanks to Starlink equipment, which was previously tested on individual diplomatic flights. The equipment was installed by a partner without attracting investment from Ukrzaliznytsia.

The company notes that in case of stable demand, the project will be scaled up to other long-distance trains through an open tender for the provision of the service. The project is being implemented jointly with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.

Ukrzaliznytsia also reminded that with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, high-speed Internet is already working in all 16 Intercity+ trains.

It was previously reported that the penalty points system for Ukrainian drivers is currently not in effect, and information about its alleged introduction is untrue.

As a reminder, from January 1, 2026, Ukraine officially joined the single roaming area of the European Union “Roaming like at home”.
