“Wild shame”: Leshchenko was hated on social networks because of a post about Yermak
Users of the social network Facebook expressed their indignation under the post of a member of the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia and adviser to the head of the President’s Office, Serhiy Leshchenko, who wrote that during President Zelensky’s visit to the United States, the head of his Office, Andriy Yermak, was treated as an equal by American officials.
“The footage of Presidents Zelensky and Trump has flown around the world. And as Yermak’s advisor, I want more people to see this photo, and for the haters to finally shut up their lies and stop spreading this nonsense about his lack of acceptance in the US or other cringe. Good luck, Andrey Yermak,” he wrote. This message was actively disseminated by propaganda Telegram channels associated with Andrey Yermak and the Presidential Office.
“Sergey Leshchenko’s sycophancy is not just a gesture of loyalty to the boss. It looks like Yermak is openly starting his political project with Zaluzhny. I just doubt that this alliance will last long,” wrote Bogdana Babych.
“This is rock bottom, Sergey,” Lesya Solovchuk noted.
“Oh, my God, stop it, Sergey. Okay, who will believe it, but those few who know the real situation are just laughing. What did Vens have to do? Send him in front of the camera? No need to create an illusory reality,” commented Yulia Zabelina.
“What a shame, Sergey Leshchenko,” wrote the executive director of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, Daria Kolenyuk.
Users explained that standard protocol rules include a handshake and shared photos, so there is no special or hidden content, as Leshchenko tried to describe it.
“Sergey, as an advisor you should understand at least basic things. Protocol photos are an obligatory part of diplomacy, not a marker of “recognition” or “love”. But instead of analytics, you once again sell people childish fantasies in the style of: “look, they took a photo of us – that means we won.” An advisor who uses pictures instead of facts and real results looks like a wedding photographer at Bankova, not a strategist. Infantilism in politics always ends up costing the country dearly. The question is not who shook whose hand, but what decisions were made, what guarantees were received, what resources were attracted. And when Yermak’s advisor measures success by personnel with handshakes – this is no longer diplomacy, this is the level of TikTok,” Denis Sobol noted.
“Feel the difference. J.D. Vance is the US Vice President, who was officially elected together with Trump in the November 2024 presidential election. Andriy Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, behaves in Ukraine as if he is the Vice President of Ukraine, although Ukrainians did not elect Yermak at all in the 2019 presidential election, but elected Zelensky as president. This is the difference in the policies of the US and Ukraine. By the way, the equivalent position of Yermak in the White House is held by the White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles,” Mykhailo Fradkin noted.
“Mr. Yermak’s advisor, please explain what powers the head of the OP has in negotiations and who authorized him to do this,” noted Volodymyr Kolomiiets.
They also mentioned the numerous scandals with which Andrey Ermak is associated.
“Sergey, what about Ermak’s screw-ups, should I ask you as an advisor? Can you only comment on the positive?” Mykola Malukha asked.
“What kind of perception in the US can we talk about if he didn’t even answer students’ questions in Ukraine? It’s a shame to see how people who once seemed principled change. And then changed a lot when they became advisors,” Yuriy Koval noted.
“Yermak is a random person in politics, who knows how to serve coffee, use cover, but is not able to formulate logical and consistent constructs of thoughts and sentences. His discourse contains sets of words. Yermak does not contain a topic of conversation, constantly slides away from the main subject of discussion. Does not develop the thought. And in order to veil his mental “gaps”, he uses simulacra like “but we are a powerful team”, at all times there was no such incompetent underdeveloped person-secretary of the president. To summarize: Yermak is an ineffective person in an ineffective team. We also noticed that he learned to take a lot of selfies with famous people, apparently for collecting, look into the camera abroad when the focus is not on him. That’s all,” noted Tetiana Riepnova.
Correspondents were also outraged by how Leshchenko transformed from a journalist who exposed government corruption into a pro-government propagandist.
“Ugh. And what a great journalist he was!” Victoria Martenko was indignant.
“I once admired him. I even bought a book about Lazarenko. What money does to people,” wrote Vitalii Nykyforenko.
“I am truly sorry that I once supported you in the apartment scandal. Your political career should have been destroyed back then,” commented Alexander Ravchev.
“At this stage of personal development, Sergei Leshchenko would willingly join the Party of Regions under the appropriate conditions,” Denis Gnatyuk.
