Wildberries logistics center catches fire in Tula region after UAV attack

On the night of August 5, drones attacked the town of Oleksyn in the Tula region of Russia. The strike caused a large-scale fire in the territory of the Wildberries logistics center.

This was reported by the Russian publication ASTRA , the Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova + and the Governor of the Tula Region Dmitry Milyaev.

According to ASTRA, eyewitnesses released videos showing a large fire in the Wildberries warehouse complex. The company confirmed the fire at the logistics facility, noting that the staff managed to evacuate before the fire broke out. Acceptance of new deliveries was temporarily suspended, and cargo was redirected to other logistics centers.

Tula Region Governor Dmitry Milyaev said a drone crashed into a sorting center, causing a fire. He said one person was injured, but there were no fatalities.

Also, according to Russian authorities, two apartment buildings in the Venevsky district were damaged, as well as two production facilities in Novomoskovsk and Uzlovsky districts.

According to Exilenova+, the Wildberries logistics center, with an area of about 194.5 thousand square meters, was opened in 2022. It provided supplies of goods to a number of regions of Central Russia, in particular the Tula, Kaluga, Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Lipetsk and Ryazan regions, and also partially unloaded logistics centers in the Moscow region.

Footage released shows the fire engulfing a significant portion of the warehouse complex. The final extent of the damage is currently unknown.

It was previously reported that onthe night of August 4, drones attacked the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region of Russia. After a series of explosions, a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise.
