Wildberries lost up to 22% of its logistics infrastructure after UAV attacks — media

Over the past two weeks, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been carrying out almost daily attacks on the logistics facilities of Russia’s largest marketplace, Wildberries. According to analysts, the attacks have resulted in significant losses for the company and its partners.

According to the publication, Ukrainian drones attacked Wildberries logistics centers in Kotovsk, Elektrostal, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and dozens of other cities in Russia.
According to Data Insight, in the past few weeks alone, 17% to 22% of the marketplace’s entire logistics infrastructure has been damaged. The cost of restoring these facilities could range from 62.5 to 80.8 billion rubles.
The biggest losses were suffered by sellers cooperating with the platform. According to analysts, their losses reached 215–280 billion rubles.
RWB founder Tetyana Kim said the warehouses were insured. However, the insurance contracts do not provide for compensation for damage caused by drone strikes. In addition, four major insurance companies confirmed that they do not insure Wildberries’ facilities at all.
The issue of compensating for losses to large businesses, which provide the bulk of the marketplace’s turnover, is not currently being considered.
Against this background, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed the relevant ministries and the Central Bank to prepare proposals for supporting the victims by August 10.
At the same time, the exact number of sellers who lost their goods as a result of the attacks is still unknown. According to Denis Vetrennykov, CEO of the ecosystem of services for marketplace sellers SellerDen, we are talking about several hundred thousand entrepreneurs.
It was previously reported that in the Vladimir region of Russia, drones attacked the Wildberries logistics center near the village of Khryastovo , causing a fire at the facility.
After a series of attacks, the company banned employees from bringing smartphones into warehouses , allowing only push-button phones without cameras to be used.
In addition,Wildberries began looking for warehouse space in Kazakhstan to protect part of its logistics infrastructure from possible new attacks.
