Information is spreading on social media about the possible withdrawal of 50-kopeck coins from circulation. The National Bank of Ukraine denied these rumors and explained that there are currently no such plans.
“Pryamo” was informed about this by the NBU.
Starting from October 1, 2025, 10-kopeck coins will be gradually withdrawn from cash circulation in Ukraine. At the same time, the National Bank emphasizes:
“These coins will remain a means of payment and can be used to make payments in the future.”
The National Bank does not plan to withdraw 50-kopeck coins from circulation. The reason is the steady demand for them, especially from retail chains and retail enterprises.
According to the NBU, there are currently over 1.3 billion 50-kopeck coins in circulation, and in 2025, an additional 20 million such coins are planned to be minted to meet cash circulation needs.
Recall that in 2024, banknotes and coins worth a total of 114.7 billion hryvnias were put into circulation in Ukraine , and in 2024, a total of 79.3 billion hryvnias.
