Will grow by 50%: in 2026, salaries of teachers and doctors will be significantly increased

In 2026, salaries for primary and emergency medical care doctors will increase in Ukraine.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.

In particular, the state budget allocates UAH 258 billion for healthcare, which is UAH 38 billion more than in 2025.

The funds will be used to increase the salary of primary and emergency medical doctors by up to 35,000 hryvnias. At the same time, a salary increase is planned for doctors in front-line regions.

The state budget also provides money for free medicines for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

And government officials have allocated 10 billion hryvnias for comprehensive health screening for citizens over 40.

In addition, a 50% salary increase is planned for education sector employees. It will take place in two stages: 30% from January 1, 2026, 20% from September 1, 2026.

Among other things, starting in October 2026, more than 4 million schoolchildren across Ukraine will be able to eat for free, and starting in September 2026, scholarships will be increased for more than 163,000 students.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft state budget for 2026 and is submitting it for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada.

By the way, the total amount of expenditures included in the draft state budget for 2026 is 4.8 trillion hryvnias , which is more than 3 times higher than the expenditures of the Ukrainian budget before the full-scale invasion.
