Slovakia’s decision to stop emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine does not pose a threat to the stability of the power system.
This was reported by Ukrenergo.
The company noted that Ukraine requested emergency assistance from the Slovak operator more than a month ago and in a limited volume. In general, deliveries from the Slovak direction were rare and did not last long.
At the same time, Ukrenergo has not yet received official documents on the unilateral termination of the contract from the Slovak system operator SEPS.
On February 23, the Ukrainian side received a letter from SEPS with a proposal to review the terms of payment under the emergency assistance agreement. Ukrenergo promised to promptly analyze the document.
The company also reminded that, together with the Slovak operator, they are part of ENTSO-E, so the relationship between the parties must comply with the rules of this organization.
Ukrenergo added that there are currently no restrictions on commercial imports of electricity from Slovakia. The allocated capacity of interstate intersections is used in accordance with the results of auctions.
As previously reported, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that he had instructed to stop emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine.
