The Office of the President commented on statements that agreements were reached on an air ceasefire in Ukraine during the summit between American leader Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
As Dmytro Lytvyn, the presidential advisor on communications, wrote on social media, Ukraine has not yet heard anything about the relevant agreements.
“We haven’t heard anything about this yet,” the official said in a statement.
Subsequently, The Economist journalist Oliver Carroll, who published information about the truce , noted that it was probably not a final decision.
“Correction from the Presidential Administration of Ukraine. Perhaps the situation is more preliminary than the source indicated,” he replied to Lytvyn’s post.
It was previously reported that a preliminary agreement was reached at the summit to cease air combat operations ahead of a planned trilateral meeting between the leaders of the United States, Ukraine, and Russia.
As a reminder, following the talks, Trump and Putin held a joint press conference. “Pryamy” has collected all the key statements of the US and Russian leaders .
After the talks, the US President stated, in particular, that the summit was constructive and gave reason for optimism. He announced consultations with NATO and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but stressed that there were no final agreements yet .
