Winter will be difficult: Estonian intelligence told what awaits Ukraine

Ukraine is entering a period of difficult fighting: in the coming months, its defense will have to withstand serious pressure from the Russian army.

Ants Kiviselg, head of the Estonian Defence Forces intelligence center, says that Russian troops have recently been able to advance a little, and the main direction of their attack is Pokrovsk-Mirnograd. According to him, this area is practically surrounded, and the supply lines of Ukrainian forces are under severe pressure.

Kiviselg noted that Russia simultaneously intensified its offensives in other areas: in the Kharkiv region near Vovchansk and Kupyansk, in the Donetsk region near Siversk, and in Zaporizhia near Hulyaipol.

He explains the increase in activity by the fact that deteriorating weather makes it difficult for Ukraine to use drones, while Russia continues to have a numerical and technical advantage – in manpower, artillery, and ammunition.

Kiviselg stressed that the situation remains very tense. If there is no progress in the negotiations to end the war in the near future, Ukraine will face heavy defensive battles in the winter and early next year.

As previously reported, US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the war in Ukraine has turned out to be more difficult than in the Middle East, however, he expects good news in the near future.
