After the peak of frost in Ukraine, it will become warmer in the coming days, but along with the warming, dangerous consequences will also appear.
This is reported by weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.
She warns that roads and sidewalks will be slippery, and icicles and snow may fall from roofs.
According to her, frost will still persist on February 11. At night, -9…-13 degrees are expected, in the west and south -1…-5, and in the northeast in places up to -12…-18 degrees. During the day, the temperature will rise to 0…-5, and in the western regions and in the south the air will warm up to +1…+5 degrees.
Due to the change in air masses, the wind will increase – it will be southerly, gusty, and strong in places. Wet snow is forecast in the western regions, and there is also a possibility of precipitation in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions. In the rest of the territory – without significant precipitation.
In Kyiv, it will be about -10 degrees at night, and about -2 degrees during the day. The capital will be windy, cloudiness will increase, and light sleet is possible in places.
However, starting from February 12, the warming will become more noticeable. As Didenko noted, “on Thursday, most regions of Ukraine will have small “pluses” during the day.”
At the same time, she warned: “Be especially careful on roads, sidewalks, and under houses – the ice will gradually melt, threatening icicles will hang, and snow slides from roofs are possible!”
Forecasters also emphasize that this is a short-term warming. According to the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, from February 12 to 15 the temperature will fluctuate near zero – a slight “minus” at night, +1…+3 degrees during the day.
However, meteorologists warned that a new drop in temperature is expected from February 16: at night -3…-8, and during clear weather up to -10 degrees.
