The Executive Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation has decided to lift restrictions on Russian and Belarusian athletes that have been in place since February 2022. This means that they will be able to compete in international competitions with their national flags and anthems.

This was reported by the International Gymnastics Federation.

The decision applies to all five gymnastics disciplines that are part of the structure of the Russian Gymnastics Federation, including artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, sports acrobatics and sports aerobics.

The report notes that in order to participate in the Olympic Games, athletes from Russia and Belarus will continue to need to obtain separate permission from the International Olympic Committee.

Recall that the International Union of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) allowed athletes and teams from Belarus to once again compete under the national flag , in the uniform of their national team, and to the national anthem.
