Without electricity in Simferopol and Sevastopol: what is known about the blackout in Crimea

On the night of July 27, a large-scale power outage occurred in temporarily occupied Crimea. Simferopol, Sevastopol, and a number of other settlements were left without electricity.
This was reported by the monitoring group “Crimean Wind”.
According to local residents, at about 02:19 in Simferopol, the lights began to flicker, and within a few minutes the power supply completely disappeared. Eyewitnesses claim that they did not hear any explosions before the accident. As of this morning, the power had not been restored.
Subsequently, Crimean Wind reported a fire at the 220 kV Bakhchisarai substation, which provides electricity transmission and distribution in the region. Later, the monitoring group, citing its own source, stated that the damage to the energy facility had been confirmed. At the same time, the Russian occupation authorities did not officially explain the reasons for the large-scale blackout.
In particular, due to the lack of electricity supply in Sevastopol, there were also disruptions in public transport. Some trolleybus and bus routes were temporarily canceled, some were transferred to modified traffic patterns, and others run at increased intervals.
Recall that on the night of July 27, there were also reports of a massive drone attack on Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, and Belgorod . According to local residents and OSINT analysts, railway infrastructure facilities, a seaport, and defense-industrial complex enterprises could have been hit.
